a recent Rare Earth video is Kafkaesque.
A Rare Earth explainer on Japan's criminal justice system and its extremely high conviction rate. It outlines the system's idiosyncrasies and how suspects are treated. HN cites it in threads about Japan's near-total conviction rate and what it says about the culture and legal system.
